Shanling CD-T100
I'm looking to buy one of these. Anyone would want to dissuade me?
Also, is there a way to buy a 110v/60 hz model ex-factory or in Hong Kong? I hear it is quite a bit less than the U.S. list price |

I hear it is quite a bit less than the U.S. list price It's a very good sounding CD player. I have had one and, while my use of it has not been very, very heavy, it has been reliable. It has some quirky aspects: you need to wait until it is thoroughly done with its initial read of a CD until you can press the play button, and that has caused me a couple of double trips to the player or the remote. Also, sometimes it does seem to take a while to read the table of contents on the disk initially. Other than that, though, it has been very reliable and fine-sounding. Because it has a volume control, you can skip the preamp if you are so motivated. It is a beautiful looking unit but, like a brushed steel Subzero fridge, very susceptible to finger prints and the like. But if you're careful, you can keep it looking fine. I'd check Audiogon; there are usually a few units for sale there well below list. |

Was hoping to but it in H.K./Shenzen but it seems the won;t sell 110v 60 hz units there. |
