If I have an SE 2A3 OPT with 2k5/8 windings,
can I use it as a PSE OPT with 1k2/4? I realise the power is an issue, but is that the only consideration? Thanks again! |

You can do what you consider but the winding losses will double, and the response will suffer at HF because all inductances in the tranny are relative to each other. If you have the same drive voltage into 1k25 as you have with 2k5 then the saturation F will be the same. If the OPT is rated for 3.5 watts for 1 x 2A3, then don't use it for 2 x 2A3.
