Default Thorens 145 hum

I recently acquired a TD145.
But when it gets about to the last track it will generate a loud hum.
Sometimes it will do this immediately.
What's the first thing to check? Solder joints? Anything else?

I would make sure that the cartridge connections are tight and the
ground wire to the amp. is solidly attached at both ends. You might
want to change the rca cables as a test. Rarely the tone arm wires
will go intermittent and need to be replaced. Chuck

I'd suggest cleaning the contacts on the arm wand and the socket it
plugs into (use a Q-tip soaked in De-oxit D5 with tweezers to remove
any stray cotton fibers that snag on the contacts), and then make sure
the locking barrel is tightened down as far as it will go. You can find
replacement wands on the internet.

**Tone arm wiring. Somewhere between the cartridge outputs and the phono
plugs.
