Default Plug and Play Windows Computer with Digital Input?

What's recommended for a plug and play computer either laptop or
desktop?

There will be only two channel music transfer and file editing. No
multi-channel, microphone, or MIDI stuff needed.

Please advise.

you need to specify what "two channel music transfer" is. is this
audio on another device that needs to have a data cable? or are you
talking about loading an mp3 or cd file from a disk into the program?

in any event, you have simple needs. take a look at the dell optiplex
computers, they tend to be quiet and reliable. say away from vista
if you still can.
