Default Parafeed Q for the Brilliant

For a shunt-fed small *guitar* amp, is there any compelling reason to
justify the high cost of a parafeed-designed OPT over a plain-Jane
guitar amp OPT run with almost no DC (i.e. "almost" meaning a couple ma
shunted across the cap through it to help keep it stable)?

I haven't fooled with one & ISTM that for 80-7Khz & where some
distortion is a desireable norm, one might use an ordinary smoothing
choke of decent quality with a normal OPT & still reap most of the
benefits over the traditional config in the 10w category.

I'd say build it out and see. Parafeed is bull**** IMO but for a
guitar amp where you want that distortion give it a try and see.

Think of it as a Heising modulation stage running AM carrier with the
modulator disconnected. :-)

With 2 other in-progress builds, a production proto running behind &
repairs coming in the door, I don't want to dub with an experimental
low-end parafeed build until I have some experienced input that may
justify it.
