Default M-Audio Delta 1010 and a laptop

I wanna get the Command|8 for PT LE. So I need a I/O. the M-Audio Delta 1010
Would be perfect, but will it work with a laptop? is the PCI card optional?
If it would work with, a laptop would it also work with the Command|8. If
the M-Audio Delta 1010 isn't compatible, is there an equal product that has
the same specs and quailty to the M-Audio Delta 1010?
Thanks,
-Adam

Are the I/O "FireWire devices with similar performance characteristics" the
same price range and specs as the Delta 1010? Please give me a suggestion,
cuz i haven't found an I/O device that does what the delta does for that
cheap.. I might have to go with the ProjectMix I/O and th4e M-Powered
software cuz it has everything a need and is in my price range.. i'd rather
stick with the LE software.
Thanks,
-Adam

The Delta 1010 is strictly a PCI device. It will not work with a laptop.
There are many FireWire devices with similar performance characteristics.

The Delta 1010 has been around a while now and price has dropped.
You'll be lucky to find a current Firewire model that competes.

If you save up foe a RME Fireface 800 you won't regret it, though :-)
