Not widely adopted, but some people are catching on. I tried it and
found that it was too damn loud for my taste, so I guess I'm using a
"modified K-System" in my studio. But I went through the exercise of
relating SPL to digital recording levels and not changing the monitor
volume after that.

I think there are a couple of digital metering programs that now offer
"K-System" display. I've been trying to get Recording to get me a copy
of the Pinguin meter program (works on Windows) for an article and
review, but it's not marketed very strongly in the US, and besides the
magazine seems to remember an old feud with the distributor but not
what it was about. (there's a demo but it shuts off too soon to tell
anything other than what it looks like)
