Let's apply some common sense here, shall we?
If a single driver could cover the entire range of music, it would have some pretty big advantages. In fact everyone would build them that way. But they don't because it isn't. Single driver speaker systems are midrange fetishists, and sacrifice a lot of other things for their extended bandwidth. They also have poor ruggedness and durability and tend toward poor articulation and very peaky directionality. In short, they suck. |
