I'm going to install 6 x 9's and an amp in the deck of my car and was
wondering if anyone could recommend amps or speakers I found in the
$100 range. I listen to mostly rock and want some decent bass.

As far as the speakers are concerned, I'd use either the Pioneer REV units or
the Phoenix Golds. The Pioneer's have a smoother sound but I think the PG's are
crisper with a little more bass response. Either pair should work, just make
sure they're well powered and watch the volume. You may also want to think
about putting Dynamat or some other filler behind and around them. Speakers
intended to produce low-mid and bass frequencies tend to vibrate more and
you'll want to eliminate that. Proper filler treatment will also help get you
more solid sound.
