Default Does the box really matter?

Contact sony and find out the correct enclosure volume for the sub. This
should be given to you in cubic feet. Buy or build a box to the correct
volume if your current box isn't the correct volume.

The shape doesn't matter, only that the sub is in an enclosure of the
correct volume for the specific type of enclosure (sealed, ported, bandpass,
etc)

Yes but thats only part of it. you need a decent low pass active
crossover and go from there.
