PC with GT 520 -- HDMI with ethernet -- a/v receiver

So is it possible the receiver send back a audio/video signal to the GT 520, which then abusively added it to the DVI signal, causing over-voltage in the DVI signal to the monitor, basically blowing up/damaging the monitor ?!?!?!?


This seems extremely unlikely, unless the receiver is now quite dead from
the lightning strike.

The normal signal levels on HDMI are 5V, with no significant power being carried
except when the optional MHL spec is included - and that's 900 mA.

DVI uses the same signals as HDMI, but video-only and there are no power-
supplying features.

If the GT520 is still working, that is strong evidence that none of this
happened according to your hypothesis.
