Shipping tube gear
William Sommerwerck wrote: Now given how I packed it, there was no way I expected a sub-chassis to work loose.; DHL must have really thrown it about to achieve that. I've seen equipment damaged in ways that defy the laws of physics. A company called Tera sent me a CRT television so I could write a user manual. It was shipped by train, and arrived damaged. One of the circuit boards was attached with metal bracket arms that had been bent /backwards/ a great distance. Assuming this was not the result of a deliberate act of sabotage, I am at a loss to understand it. It could not have been the result of simple vibration. I have a lovely Sony E530 21" Trinitron multisync high res monitor here that I got cheap as 'B stock'. Turns out some clown ran the tangs of his forklift through the packaging. Rejected by the customer and I got it at half price. Basically just minor cosmetic damage. Never underestimate the ability of shippers to destroy things.
