Default Thorens TD 105

Hello,

I have a Thorens TD 105 turntable and i am missing the power supply for
it. i am wondering is it possible to get a replacement (don;t know if
the company still exists) or could i use any generic AC power supply.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Hugh.

Thorens still exists.

To find their representative in your country, go to:

http://www.thorens.ch/THORENS/thoren...300&flash=true

UNFORTUNATELY the web site for the company also says:

Spare parts and support for your Thorens record player

Due to the restructuring of production and sale in 2000, Thorens is
no longer able to provide spare parts for old models (with the
exception of drive belts and power supplies). Please note that we do
not offer any kind of support for these models as well. Please
refrain from sending us inquiries concerning this matter.

As a matter of course, spare parts for every current model are
available without limitation. Please ask your local distributor for
more information.

Thorens Customer Support

From my recollection of a job I did more than a year ago, a Thorens
came in with the complaint that its speed would drop intermittently. We
diagnosed a low voltage from the wall-wart power supply as the cause. I
sort of remember that on this particular Thorens...and I can't recall
which one it was...the factory wall-wart was specified at 16VAC at
whatever nominal current draw; the one with the turntable failed to meet
that spec. I found a wall-wart at a surplus store, rated at 15VAC at a
higher current; it worked, providing a higher voltage than 15VAC at the
current the Thorens was drawing. We went to the surplus store after the
USA representative for Thorens quoted a cost of about $50 USD for the
factory part.

It's a Swiss company, still in business. You can find contact information
on their website.
