Default Pioneer PL A45D platter removal & noise

Hope this isn't a question that makes folks wince and mutter
"Moron..." but could someone help? As the header states, I have
recently picked up a Pioneer PL A45D and I'd like to remove/put back
the platter to try to diagnose a very, very slight, soft, intermittent
scraping sound as the platter rotates. Sounds like metal meeting
metal for a split second with every rotation. Is this an easy
operation? The motor pulley is clearly accessible through the cutouts
in the platter, so I guess the belt would have to slip off that first,
but the platter is solidly locked in place. Is there a locking nut on
the underside of the base?

My other question, which probably will elicit the "Moron" response, is
what would the recommended lubricant be for the marked hole on the
base underneath the platter(asking for 2-3 drops)?

Grab the platter by the two finger-holes visible on the top side, apply
upward force while tapping the center spindle with an object such as a
plastic screwdriver handle. The platter will pop off.

Use light lubricating oil.

The scraping may be a partially collapsed bearing assembly. Sometimes
disassembly and re-lubing helps.

Pull harder. Maybe tapping the spindle lightly.

A light oil.
