I've been reading here for about a month, and need some help!
I've just got a Philips CDR 770 but no instructions on how to use.
Can anyone help Pls?

I'd guess it takes Audio CD-R's (not regular, cheaper, computer CD-R's).
Beyond that, have you tried to record anything with it yet?

-insert audio cd-r
-press `rec mode` 3 or 4 times, until `rec manual` appears
-adjust rec level by turning knob
-check input selected is `analogue`
-play source vinyl and press `record` on machine to start
-on remote control, press `track incr` to add cd track marks.
-note, if you press record and change your mind you can press stop
withn 3 secs and no track wil be made on the cd.

ah this explains why without a remote (found mine for $15 at a thrift
store, no remote no booklet) I couldn't break up tracks on the fly.

keep looking - i have seen those remotes crop up second hand as they
were the same as used on many other philips cd players of same vintage!
in fact the remote has a button to toggle between cd and cd-r recorder
if you have the matching cd player .
