Default can I make a 2.1 system into a 4.1 system?

hi all....

my el-cheapo entry into home theater!

recently I bought a Denon D -m51dvs [small] hometheater system and it
sounds wonderful. yes I have more or less joined the Hometheater
people on the cheap!

I have the Denon D-M51DVS, I bought it about a week ago.

then I read about the Insignia speakers over at
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=690556
and
AS and I went to my local best buy and low and behold they were there
for about $50. they sound as good as the $300+ yamaha system on the
test row!!

no wonder everyone is excitied!

So here is my nice Denon HTIB.

Denon D-M51DVS DVD Executive Microsystem with Dolby Virtual Speaker.

2-channel amplifier pumps 35 watts into supplied speakers; active
subwoofer with 6-inch driver and a 100 watt amplifier .
Power (watts per channel): 35 watts x 2 (into 6-ohm speakers, at 1
kHz, EIAJ measurement) or 10 watts x 2 (into 4-ohm speakers, from 20 to
20,000 Hz), 20 watts x 2 (into 8-ohm speakers, from 20 to 20,000 Hz)
Bi-amplified: No
Subwoofer power: 100 watts

the Insignia nsb2111 is rated at 8 ohms per speaker, the denon side
speakers are 4 ohms..

ooooh!
a microsystem to drive two 8 ohm speakers?!
is there Hope, or .....

.....should i just be satisfied with my nice denon?

....or add the two Insignias to make a 4.1 system, where there are two
speakers per side?
....or even REPLACE the two denon side-speakers with the two insignias?

I have no way to objectively compare the two speakers together, I would
have to rely on someone here who has heard the Denon
side-speakers and also the two insignias!

I, the newbie to home theater realizes that an amp has just so much
power to drive speakers, probably i should just go ahead and enjoy what
I have, but I better find out from someone first!

At least, if I could do this, i would have to live with the
ohm-differences.

and to Think, reading the "ABSOLUTE SOUND" at Borders, that I could buy
speaker wire for $1000 a foot and a system for $80,000!

thanks....freestone

The Denon is a 2.1 system. You can add as many speakers as possible
but it will still have only 2.1 channels.
