Default H.H.Scott of audio fame

Hope not a duplicate - had trouble posting!

Hi, Vacuumlanders,
This description of H.H. Scott appears in two eBay auctions for two
Scott stereo amplifiers. Do people agree, or is it an exaggeration?
BTW, neither are the eBay items are mine, nor is this write-up! Nor
am I bidding on either!

Direct quote (unedited)
"Hermon Hosmer Scott is without doubt one of the greatest engineers in
the history of Hi-Fi audio. His contributions are numerous, he
invented the RC Oscillator, the selectively tuned RC circuit, various
RC filters, the modern sweep circuit, the Dynaural Noise Suppressor,
and much more; in fact he held over 100 patents for his innovative
research in the field of electronics and has received many honors and
awards for his work. A few years back when the Consumer Electronics
Association named the 50 greatest contributors to the world of
electronics Hermon Scott was on that short list of notable audio
icons.

"While completing his Masters at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology, Scott worked on the earliest motion picture sound systems
as an engineer with Bell Telephone Laboratories. He latter became
involved with the development of broadcast equipment for the
professional audio industry. After much success with his first
company, The Technology Instrument Corporation, Scott established his
2nd company in 1947, H.H. Scott Inc., concentrating his efforts on the
emerging consumer market, while continuing to offer commercial
"laboratory-grade" instruments for professionals.

"The components produced by H.H. Scott over the subsequent 20 year
period proved to be the finest of their kind. Mr. Scott never had a
problem producing superior products his problem was promoting them.
Scott was fiercely independent, so much so that he seemed unwilling to
master marketing and competition, and had difficulty fighting his
competitors' cost-cutting strategies. Imports ate away at the
company's market share, and in 1972, it finally went under.

"Today as more and more collectors and audiophiles discover the
outstanding craftsmanship and superior sonic attributes of the
50’s-60’s era tube components from H.H. Scott their value will
undoubtedly go through the roof the way McIntosh and Marantz
components did. I believe the vintage H.H. Scott products are the best
kept secret in the Hi-Fi world and every bit as good as, and in some
respects better than, the above mentioned manufacturers components.
This is a strong statement, although after you audition the H.H. Scott
222D you will definitely see what I mean.

"Each stage of the 222D [one of the amps offered. RJ] was
efficiently overbuilt, using the finest components, and unparalleled
Scott circuit design, to achieve an amazing level a sonic performance.
It is a true testament to the quality from an era long gone."

Actually, I'd like to believe all this... should I?
Cheers,
Roger
