Default Trying to record sound on a public library computer

I'm trying to find a small sound recorder type program which i found
from google a week ago about 300k (uncompressed) IIRC but i've forgot
where i found it or its name. I am able to run it on a public library
computer because it doesn't need to go through a setup process so it
would have .exe extension.

All the public library computers have a mic socket.

When i used it it look a bit like windows sound recorder sndrec32.exe
but just didn't have an oscilloscope.

Does anyone know where i could find this free program? or what its
name is?

I've tried searching on google a number of times and i still can't
find it!

I noticed after i used it on the library computer that files with wav
extension brought up windows sound recorder unlike realplayer which
it
did before.
