Default BGW 500d

Bought one at a flea mkt, replaced all the electrolytics. Seems to
take a lot to drive it. Using a consumer pre amp haffler dh-110 -10db
unballanced ahead of it. Does this amp need a +4 source ?

** BGWs required a higher level input signal - about 2 to 2.5 volts rms.

Most typical power amps vary from 700mV to about 1.5 volts.

The Hafler pre-amp's output level is compatible - since it is NOT - 10dBu.
