Default Hello to old friends

It's been 3 or 4 years since I've taken the time to see what was
happening here in RAP. I used to read RAP every day. At that time I
was the associate director of a fairly well known recording
engineering trade school. It was great fun to check in every day for
the drama. I guess I managed to find more time for this kind of stuff
then. Kinda makes you wonder doesn't it? anyway....

For the few who may want to know, I now have a PT TDM rig, a remote
rig, and I am the audio director of a very unique "church" in
Cincinnati.

Glad to see the old guard still likes to post on usenet. I've gotten
much from all you guys. I hope to check back soon.

Hello

BrianS

I've been MIA a lot myself lately.... I'm haunting political groups in search
of a way to help impeach the criminals and stop the MIC takeover from
cutting any deeper into America.

I'll try

We have a 3500 seat theater, not a church type building. 10 line sets.
Multiple catwalks extending over the entire venue, 2 balconies, tall
yet intimate. More of a Cirque sort of thing.

Unique scenic is associated with each topical series. Each series is
usually 5 or 6 weeks. The scenic doesn't change during the series but
the music set is different every week.
The music is mostly rock secular (think U2, John Mayer) with
occasional dramatic performance pieces. We usually have 6 minutes or
so of broadcast quality video footage that is created each week to re-
enforce whatever the theme is, or to communicate community events.

For the last 5 week series we had a 16 by 32ft 10,000 gallon pool on
stage. For one of the events there were 8 galvanized pipes from 1 to
5 inches in diameter, 12 feet tall, suspended from line sets with
elastic bands. The end of the pipes were lowered into the water. One
guy played the pipes while another guy moved the pipes up and down in
the water. I've also had drummers playing 55 gallon drums on platforms
suspended from the ceiling over the audience. It's different.

The PA is quite nice.

Yamaha PM1D 72 inputs 64 outputs
32 Meyer Melodies with 4 700 subs
LCS Matrix 300/VRAS system (There are 120ish speaker input to output
home runs that I can address from FOH. )
Digi 002 w/MTP at FOH for element playback or tracking

I'm usually providing about 40 unique mixes from the PM1D counting
house, ears, wedges, ProTools, distribution, etc.

Using the LCS system for FX returns feeding 120 speakers over and
behind the audience is awesome.

The "religious" philosophy is. http://www.crossroadscommunity.net/

It's a pretty unique church.
