Dali Grand Coupe
I bought the Dali Grand Coupe from Spearit Sound in Northhampton, MA.
They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I just hooked them up today. What a refined loudspeaker and it isn't evn broken in yet. I don't find it particularly laid back as was mentioned in the British review. As a matter of fact, I turned off the DSP on ny HT receiver because they were too forward sounding. The bass is unbelievable for such a bookshelf speaker. I have temporarily escaped from mid-fi purgatory, economically speaking.:). Do speakers that are built the same sound the same? |

The first hit that google shows for this speaker is a review in hifichoice: http://www.hifichoice.co.uk/review_print.asp?ID=1723 "Dali's claim that this speaker sounds much bigger than it looks is at least partly justified, but it's also partly a consequence of combining a full midbass region with a rather under-nourished upper midband." "Here, the low sensitivity and bass-heavy response go hand-in-hand, for an averaged 3rd-octave response plot shows the Grand Coupe drooping from 200Hz-2.5kHz by about 7dB. There's a mild recovery after the 3kHz crossover where distortion falls to an impressive 0.25%." -- http://www.mat.uc.pt/~rps/ ..pt is Portugal| `Whom the gods love die young'-Menander (342-292 BC) Europe | Villeneuve 50-82, Toivonen 56-86, Senna 60-94 |

Dali Grand Coupe
Thanks for the input. This review, the only one, almost stopped me from
buying. When I spoke with the owner of Spearit I was convinced that it was not sonically noticeable. I am still breaking them in but I really like the level of quality that I am hearing.
