Default Recording on wax cylinders?

A friend of mine was working on a research project at the Library of
Congress 25 or so years ago, and he ran into someone who had an Edison
cylinder dictating machine that still worked. He recorded an obscure
New England version of a British ballad on it, got it good and dirty
looking, planted it behind a file cabinet at the Library, and then a
few weeks later, pulled it out and said gleefully "Hey, look at what I
found behind the cabinet!" They took it down to the recording lab and
played it, and nobody recognized that it was him singing. It was that
bad.

was your friend Willie Nelson? I may have seen that movie.

Hey, did you guys know that Thomas Edison also invented sex for fun?
What a guy!

Not true! TEENAGERS invented sex (in spite of all evidence to
the contrary such as the existence of their parents).
