Default Piccolo - Your favorite mic to record with <--

So, if you were to record a solo piccolo, what mic would you reach for
first ? Since the piece itself is not "entirely" classical in nature,
there is some room for experimentation and fun. As far as the mic
prese are concern, they are the obvious suspects: Pendulum, Millenia,
API.

Thanks,

You trying to get it to sit into a fairly dense mix?

I'd tend to go with something like a 77DX to tone the top end down a bit
on most piccolos, but I have heard some players who were really not piercing
at all and could do with something a bit more on top.

Try a Neumann TLM103, or maybe a M147

Not for me with piccolo.

Almost any ribbon will be better.

Condensors tend to be really brittle and harsh on piccolo. Something about high
frequencies and high SPL's.
