Default AMD or INTEL for Samplitude pro.v7 ?

I'm about to build new PC, mainly for running Samplitude pro.
7
I initially thought about staying with AMD (which I use now) and
upgrading to Athlon XP3000+ with Asus A7n8x M/board.
But Samplitude is supposedly "optimized" for Pentium CPU.
So I thought about an Intel P4 (800Mhz bus) with Asus P4P800
m/board.

I do mainly audio, but I want to use VST instruments on
Samplitude (don't laugh!),and I'd like to get some feedback on
what results people have had with AMD and Samplitude
Does anyone (Samplitude users) know of any disadvantages in
using AMD CPU rather than INTEL ?

I would appreciate any info.

Regards,
Terry

The Asus P4P800 deluxe is an awsome board, used with an Intel 2.4ghz or
higher (800Mhz bus) processor.

AMD and Intel crunch numbers just as well as each other. The only difference
is the way the numbers get to the processor. For any other task this is not
a problem but by from my experience and others Intel does better with audio
processing than AMD.

I would appreciate any info.
