DVD-A digital vs analogue outputs
Just thinking about running DVD-A off a media pc.
Considering using a soundblaster audigy 2 pci card which has analogue outs. Up till recently i thought that DVD-A wasn't able to be delivered digitally, but now i see that firewire can be used for DVD-A on pioneer and yamaha recievers. Ideally i'd like one digital output from the pc that can supply both DVD-A/7.1 surround/game sound to the recievers digital input and have all the decoding done by the high spec reciever rather than the pcs card. Can i simply have a firewire out put that tranfers all the pc's sounds/DVDA etc to the reciever? Does anyone have a setup like this? Cheers |

The Firewire input use the encrypted M&A proticol (Music and Audio), you can
not connect an AX5 or AX10 to a PC, The new AX10Ai can be connected to a PC via a USB input for 7.1 though. "Craig D" wrote in message news:GW7_b.243489$U%5.1563939@attbi_s03...
