Default Why does my turntable spin the wrong way?

Just bought a Pro-ject 1.2 second hand. Appears to be in very good
condition, except rather strangely it wants to turn the wrong way.
The only thing I can do to stop this is to give the platter a push in
the right direction and then it seems fine!

Any ideas what's causing this and how i might go about correcting it?

Thanks,

Stuart Fox

It seems it is a direct drive with three phases. One phase isn't working.
You should check if you can trace it to the motor driver board or
(hopefully) to a bad connection between the board and the motor. It's
unlikely that the motor itself is faulty.
