Back in April of 2005, I gave the Sonos a perfect 5-
star rating. Today, I'm giving the Sonos S5 system 8
out of 10. There's still nothing better on the market
if you're looking for a multiroom music system. But I
just can't get over the feeling that the cost is just
too high ($399 at Amazon.com: http://tr.im/Sonos ) for
the company to go mainstream...

I'm giving you a 3 out of 2, but next year, you'll only get 7.5 out of 11.2.

I don't know why the hell anyone really NEEDS a multiroom music
system for the house. Having ONE serious music system in the listening
room and modest ones in a couple of others just makes more sense,
unless you want commercial level paging, background music and all
that. NuTone had that 50+ years ago.

If you want to go between two or three rooms, a regular amp driving a
70 volt distro pair can be routed between them and transformers to
break it down as needed. In this iPod age it's like a solution for a
no longer relevant issue.
