WMA Support?
Hello
I am looking for a CD Receiver that will allow me to play CD-R made in Windows Media Player. Any ideas? The only player that I have located so far is the newer Eclipse CD 8454, but it is a unit without power and I do not wish to use external amplifiers. Thank You |

My Panasonic is WMA capable. Check out their whole line for one that impresses
you. I'm sure there are other brands that support it too. wrote in message ... Hello I am looking for a CD Receiver that will allow me to play CD-R made in Windows Media Player. Any ideas? Alpine, Clarion, Eclipse, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer all have
models with WMA capability. Take your pick. Crutchfield has info on all but Eclipse if you wish to check them out. There's likely more brands as well. WMA Support?
Uh, I'm not sure that the poster was asking about WMA format. He said
he wanted to play a CD-R made with Windows Media Player; as far as I know, that's a plain old "redbook" cd format. John Brandon Buckner wrote in message ... Let me rephrase: A "CD-R made in Windows Media Player" (via the "copy
to CD" function) does not write WMA's to the cd; it creates a redbook format. So I'm not sure that WMA support is what the poster really needs (though it is what he asked for). Well, at least I tried. You seem to be more familiar with creating the
CD using WMP. I personally try to stay away from it. I'll bow out now. Brandon,
You're right - WMP is not the best tool for creating CD's. I personally never burn redbook format any more (why limit yourself to 80 minutes per disc when you can copy MP3 or WMA files to it and get over 10 hours?). What I really want to see is a head unit with a USB port where I can plug in my USB drive and play MP3's from it. Why handle delicate CD's when you have a durable, 1GB device that clips to your shirt pocket and doesn't require a CD burner to use. John Brandon Buckner wrote in message ... Well, at least I tried.
