The crossover tabs got loose from abuse. Over time the coils fit loose in
their tabs. I have tried to solder them. I don't know what material the coil is. I've used flux but the coil simply won't solder. Any advice? Thanks, Eddie "Rich Andrews." wrote in message .44... It is usually necessary to sand off the varnish in order to solder to them, and if the wire is heavy (16/14/12 gauge) then an old-fashioned soldering iron may be necessary. If the coil is an air core (wound over a wood or cardboard form) then duplicating it requires duplicating the number of turns around an identical form using wire of the same gauge. If the coil has an iron/ferrite core than you'd probably have to reuse the form. This would be routine stuff for a radio repairman ca 1960, when these were built. I owned W60D's ca 1963, so I have severe doubts that there are a lot of spare parts around, but there may be a retired service tech who can help.
