And the Krooborg cowered, and quaked, and... took another bite of ****. So much for religious faith. ;-) George, though I find your scene distasteful (no pun intended), you mention of religion makes me think of a quote I read today. It's by James Kennedy, one of the most prominent of today's evangelical Christian leaders. I find it disturbing: "Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost. We are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors -- in short, over every aspect and institution of human society." Yes, as sick as the Taliban mentality You think he was threatening to kill anyone? No, he is threatening the Christian version of Sharia. Oh... you mean where we have a choice and they advocate change through non-violent means and 16 year old girls will get chastised but not stoned for having sex. No that's the point, you don't have choice under 'religious' dominion. You don't have choice under democratic rule either. Bull****, you have plenty of choce to live the life you want to lead, and a reasonable amount of privacy to do it in. For on e thing, one has the choice whether or not to have an abortion. Scott, I find it somewhat ironic and disturbing that you are arguing that America does not really ahve the democratic and plurastic freedoms that are not avialable in societies run by religious dogma. You have to go along with the majority or the Supreme court. The Supreme Court tends to protect the rights of the non believers. Societies ruled by religious dogma tend to supress the rights of the non-believers. In a fundamentalist Christian dogma society, there will be no birth control, no abortion. In fact abortionists will be executed, perhaps pregnant women getting abortions will be executed, after all ,they are hiring contract killers. 16 year old girls will be forced to give birth, while being denied the education that would facilitate its prevention. You think christians deny 16 year old girls the knowledge that sex can cause pregnancy? They deny them the education about birth control. We are talkng about making religious law civil law. The pendulum swings...its really a public reaction to the failed policies of the liberals. Will the pendulum swing too far IYO? Maybe. http://www.publiceye.org/eyes/sd_theo.html On a broader scale I've read that all secular societies are under religious pressure of one form or another. Usually Islamic movements but some christian. I'd rather face off some devout christians. "At least" they aren't strapping IED's nor threateneing to cut off one's hands, tongue, or penis. Semimonthly Kroodown imminent
Jenn said to DebatingTradeBorg: What other perception is a reasonable person to have, Arny? The OP simply gives his opinion that compared to LPs, something is lacking in the CD format. You then claim that he "deifies" the LP format. Obviously, you think that to like a thing is to "deify" it. Not necessarily, as the Krooborg will be the first to explain. Or maybe the second, inasmuch as I'm the one who's about to explain it. "It" being the onset of Krooborg's full-tilt "debating trade" dance. At this juncture, one of four responses from Turdborg will ensue, e.g., to wit, viz., the following exemplars: 1. Turdy will claim that you "misunderstood" his statement because you're a proven liar. (The latter follows from the former according to the pliable laws of Kroologic.) 2. Turdy will claim that he did not have to "mean" what he said since he was, and is, a "master of the debating trade". In the "debating trade" dimension, nobody is ever accountable for what they say because all arguments are made only for argument's sake. (Except when Normals make facetious comments about the Krooborg, which are "lies".) 3. Turdy will claim prior knowledge that the OP "deifies" LPs. This will be based on earlier apparitional exchanges between Turdy and the OP that are supposedly "in Goggle". If you ask for a reference to such exchanges, you will receive the Krooful reply "asked and answered" or "been there done that". (Or possibly, depending on the intensity of the Beast's paranoid frenzy, an accusation that you are a "Middius dupe" or an "Atkinson shill".) 4. Turdy will disavow knowledge of his accusation that the OP or anybody else "deifies" LPs. He will support this alleged ignorance by Kroo-klaiming that he can't be expected to remember everything he posts on Usenet. (Recall, if you will, that Krooger's stated objective on Usenet is to carry on arguments with at least three separate individuals in at least three separate newsgroups at every hour of every day.) Krooger has used this "can't remember" excuse several times, most notably when he's caught arguing with his own earlier posts. Good luck, and may the snot avoid you. ;-) -- A day without Krooger is like a day without radiation poisoning. |

What will replace the CD?
Couldn't find original message so I'm replying to a reply.
According to Warner DVDs with some funky DVD-based stuff will replace CDs http://online.wsj.com/public/article...ml?mod=blog s I don't have any technical details so all I know for sure is that it seems rather strange. Joe |

So much for religious faith. ;-) Why am I not shocked to see George at the center of another flame? How many years have you had this little fued going there George? Even the Hatfields and McCoys took a break after a decade or so. I guess you enjoy the safety of taking pot shots over the net where no one can respond with anything but electrons arranged in a certain way. That's why I think the internet is home for the biggest whiners on earth. People like you thrive in the seclusion of living and posting from under a rock somewhere without any consequence for their actions. It's CB radio all over again. Rednecks bashing each other from the safety of their hideout on every channel - ain't the internet great? Yes I know I'm here doing the same thing but I don't do it as a full time hobby. It isn't my life. I've actually been doing other things for the past 10 years. George has been right here all along haven't you George? What a joke. But hey I'm not "out". That's a perfectly good reason to discount what I have to say according to the half baked weirdos that populate these groups. Haven't you guys noticed that the audiophile fad has been over for about a decade now? You're the only ones left that think bashing someone else over their choice of overpriced equipment is cool and enjoyable. Get a life guys. You really need one. You know I'm right. When was the last time you saw the sun George? Are their mushrooms growing on your keyboard? Is there a Mrs. Middius? Do you have time for any other hobbies besides boring flame wars? |

Hide in your basement and crank up the stereo until you can't hear anything from the real world, post flames in this ng and put down everyone who isn't just like you. Nothing creepy about that is there George? Can you imagine a whole country filled with people just like you? A whole world maybe? At least communicable diseases would cease to exist unless they adapted so they could spread over the internet. I'll stop picking on you now George. I shouldn't have singled you out. This whole ng is full of weirdos like you. You're just one I remember from 10 years ago and you're still here doing the same thing you were back then. Nothing creepy about that. No sir. |
