Default underdamped bass alignment

Folks,

Dipole roll of at the botom-end and top end is physics. Augmenting the
bottom end with underdamped bass alignment helps but such in a sealed
box makes for sluggish bass

Question is, in dipole design, due to its fast bass cancellation, does
underdamped bass alignment the same as critically damped of a sealed
box?

Regards,
Jay Bala.
