to avoid tech-support calls from the elderly. Doubt there have been any
(domestic hifi) speakers sold since mid-70s that spec at 16 ohms !

You can still buy "16ohm" drivers. But yes, very few domestic HiFi
speaker *systems* are specced at 16ohm these days.


My dB Plus 880s are speced 8ohms.


So just like the majority of speakers made in the last 40-50 years then.
