Default Jeep Wrangler system

Just got a 2005 Rubicon. It seems like it might be a pretty challenging
vehicle to put a great sounding stereo into, so I need your advice. I don't
have much left to spend on equipment so I'm gonna try to recycle as much of
my old gear as I can. Here's some of what I have:

- CDT Audio HD-62 6.5" 2-way components
- Amp for mids/highs: Helix HXA400 MKII (2x250W bridged into 4 ohms)
- Sub amp: MMATS D200HC (1x1200W @ 1 ohm)

I'd love to be able to put the 6.5" speakers in the doors (they're hard
doors), but the only location that looks doable would point the speakers
right at the seat bottoms. So I'm leaning towards putting them in the
overhead pods on the roll bar. I know this isn't ideal since they'd be
behind my head, but it seems like that would be better than having them
firing into the seats. I thought I might be able to compensate for this bad
location with one of these "UpStage" systems, which will supposedly improve
the imaging:

Or would I be better off putting the 6.5s in the doors and spending my money
on upgrading my 2-ways to 3-ways with new 4" mids and 3-way crossovers (I
think that's possible). The 4s would go in the factory dash locations.

Also, what would be a good sub to go with, assuming it'll go in the small
space behind the rear seat? I think I'll be limited to one or two 10s since
I'll want to be able to put the soft top down all the way. I'll need
something with good power handling but that doesn't need much airspace. I
was thinking maybe one or two Solobaric L7s -- any thoughts?

Thanks much,
Jason
